Mfantsipim School emerge champions of Zone Three athletics competition
Mfantsipim School bagged 191 points to lift the championship trophy in the Zone Three Inter-Schools and Colleges athletics competition held at the Schools and Colleges Park at Adisadel on Saturday.
St. Augustine’s College placed second with 130 points followed by Jukwa Senior High with 123 points with Mankessim Secondary Technical coming fourth with 63.5 points.
In the Girls’ division, Wesley Girls High School showed their supremacy when they bagged 196 points to place first followed by Jukwa SHS at the second position with 189 points, Holy Child SHS was third with 124 points, Saltpond Methodist High School placed fourth 36 points, while Mankessim Secondary Technical School came fifth with 32 points.
Master Owusu Peprah of Mfantsipim School was declared the best athlete in male the category after he came first in the 100 and 200 metre races and led his school’s relay quartet to win the 4x200 metre race.
In the Girls’ sector, Rita Aidoo of Jukwa Senior High was declared the best athlete for coming first in the 100 and 200 metres and anchoring her school’s team to win the 4x400 metre and the 4x200 metre races.
