Millicom Ghana Limited, operators of Tigo cellular network, on Tuesday presented 500 mathematical sets to the Five Garrison Education Unit at Burma Camp in Accra.
The donation is meant to make the study of science, mathematics and technical education easy and ease the pressure on pupils who cannot afford to buy them.
Speaking at the presentation, Ms Anita Erskine, Corporate Manager of Millicom Ghana Limited, said the donation formed part of the social responsibilities of the company.
She said the distribution of the mathematical sets was an ongoing project under which the company selected five less endowed schools from each of the 10 regions to be beneficiaries.
Colonel Osei Kojo, Director of Education, Ghana Armed Forces, expressed his appreciation to Millicom Ghana Limited for the kind gesture.
"This is an extraordinary project embarked on by the company and we are more than grateful," he said.
He pledged the preparedness of the teaching staff of the school to ensure that the items were kept well.
