The Minister of Tourism, Ms Akua Sena Dansua says upcoming the First African Choral Festival will give Ghana the much needed publicity in the international exposure which is going to boost investment in the country.Speaking at the launch of the festival on Tuesday in Accra, she stated that Ghana will welcome about 17 international groups from United States, Africa and across the world who have expressed their desire to participate in this maiden edition of the choral festival.The first African Choral Festival dubbed “Africa Sing Aloud” is part of the Ministry’s efforts at fostering closer collaboration and cultural exchange among African countries.The theme for the maiden edition of African Choral Festival is “Celebrating Culture through Choral Music”. It will be held at the National Theater in Accra and Cape Coast Castle, in the Central Region in February 2012.The Executive Director of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Mr. Julius Debrah said preceding the event will be a national choral competition in February 2012, where winners from the regional competitions to be held between January 10th and 28th will compete for the top three slots to represent Ghana at the international festival.Mr. Debrah therefore urged Choral Music enthusiasts to be part of this great event. The Ministry will feature choirs that will represent the best in the Ghanaian Choral Music.The festival is being put together by the Ministry of Tourism, Ghana Tourism Authority in collaboration with the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Culture, and partnered by the Multimedia Group Ltd.
