The Minority in Parliament is calling for a cease fire in the opposition National Democratic Congress following days of media attacks by leading members of the party.
Deputy Minority Leader James Klutse Avedzi said party members cannot continue washing their dirty linens in public.
In an interview with Joy News’ Emefa Apawu, the Ketu North Member of Parliament would rather have aggrieved members use the party’s structures to resolve their grievances.
His counsel comes in the wake of gun scatter attacks on leading members of the party triggered by an n opinion piece written by former Deputy Chief of Staff Dr Valerie Sawyer.
Dr Sawyer described Mr Rawlings as mosquito or a house fly whose buzzing criticism of the NDC appear to have vanished under the opposition New Patriotic Party.
“They say he booms [but] I say he buzzes…like an agitated mosquito…looking for his next victim, she said of Mr Rawlings.
Dr Valerie Sawyer also described the ex-president as a hypocrite who sees all the wrongs in others but himself.
She said it is about time Mr Rawlings is held by the same standards he holds others.

The former Chief of Staff under Mahama did not stop there. She fired another salvo at Martin Amidu describing him as “pompous” a man with an “over-bloated ego and sense of self-importance.”
“I am not a soothsayer, neither am I a harbinger of gloom and doom…but once again I say to you…this time with a nation full of witnesses…that your Achilles heel will destroy you,” she said.
Her piece has triggered reactions. Martin Amidu himself has hit back wondering if Dr Sawyer's “incoherent” piece was written under the influence of alcohol.
Another NDC sympathizer Dela Coffie has also pissed in with heavy criticism against Dr Sawyer.

In the wake of the criticism a petition has been sent to the party’s headquarters, demanding punitive action against Martin Amidu for his public outburst against members of the party.
Discussing the drama of insults on Joy FM’s Newsnite programme, the Deputy Minority Leader Avedzi said the party structures must be used for conflict resolution.
Even though he believes the party is made up of different individuals with different opinions, he said all opinions and differences must be channeled through the party’s structures.
He said as a Minority group in Parliament they will champion a peaceful resolution of the ongoing media war.
Meanwhile, a political science lecturer at the University of Ghana is warning the NDC could be decimated in the next election if the ongoing wrangling is not resolved.
Dr Bossman Asare said the NDC is engaging in an exercise of self-destruction if it continues waging war against Martin Amidu and ex-president John Rawlings.
Rather than engaging in “parochial agenda” like taking on Amidu, he said the party will be better served if it concentrated on building a formidable party for the 2020 elections.
