Beach Tourism is the largest Tourism revenue sector world-wide. Ghana has developed in terms of beaches and resorts to satisfy accommodate and entertain tourists worldwide.
Unfortunately, this specific tourism attribute has been neglected since in the past, we lacked Infrastructure relevant to enable us explore this venture.The private sector has made major investments in terms of beach lodges and resorts of all classifications to attract both domestic and international tourists.
BUT WHAT DO WE SEE; ‘OUR BEACH TOURISM IS POORLY PATRONIZED’.
“Miss Beach Ghana 2010” is an Integrated Tourism Promotional Package, which will become an annual event, and seeks to provide a medium for promoting the development of Beach Tourism designations, entertainment, culture and other aspects of the Hospitality Industry.
Beauty, Elegance, Intelligence, Confidence and Creativity spiced-up with Beach Touring, Beach Games, Beach Fashion, Photo Shoots, Culture and Entertainment, are all professionally produced from the beautiful tropical coastal beaches and resorts of Ghana, have being put together to serve you between the months of September and October, 2010 by Style Africa Ghana in the first ever beauty pageant “Miss Beach Ghana-2010”.
OBJECTIVE of ‘MISS BEACH GHANA 2010’ is to take Beach Tourism Promotion, Development and Entertainment to the door steps of adventure and pleasure seekers, lovers of Beach Entertainment and Viewers, as they can now breathe a sigh of relief, soon, something different, adventurous, exciting and new is about to hit their television screens.
Being the first of its kind in Ghana and the sub region, this pageant has been carefully put together with support from Minister of Tourism, focusing on bringing into the limelight pleasures and beauty of beaches, and resorts along the coast of Ghana. It serves a strong plat form for industry players as a marketing tool to showcase their beach related products through the event.
The event is in three (3) Stages;
Preliminary Selection: (August, 2010) – AUDITIONS.
This takes place within the four (4) coastal regions of Ghana (ie. Volta, Greater Accra, Central and Western regions) three (3) finalists each will be selected per region. The audition requirement is one (1) clothe (Beach Casual wear) produce by a local Fashion Designer of her choice.
Regional Event/Tour: (September, 2010)Here each of the 4 Regional Groupings (Contestants) will host each other in turns in a weekly Tour of the various Beach Resorts, Lodges and other unique tourist attractions within the coastal regions of Ghana.
Exhibition and the Grand Finale: (October 29th and 30th, 2010) The Grand Finale will witness a Sector Exhibition/Fair climaxing and crowning of Miss Beach Tourism, Ghana-2010.
