Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, Aspiring Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has underscored the need for the Delegates to elect competent, dedicated, loyal, tried and tested National Executives, who can lead the party to victory in the 2016 Elections.
Speaking to journalists at his residence ahead of the party’s National Delegates Congress slated for December 20 in Kumasi, Mr Ofosu-Ampofo reminded the delegates that the party would be heading for defeat, if they allowed themselves to be influenced by money and voted against their conscience on Saturday.
He pointed out that the fight in 2016 was going to be tough, and NDC, therefore, needed executive officers who could mobilize the rank and file, to secure victory for the party.
Mr Ofosu-Ampofo, former Minister of Local Government and twice National Organizer of the NDC said, there were gaps and conflicts in the party now, and reminded the Delegates that, to close those gaps, and resolve those conflicts, they ought to vote somebody like him who could link up with the grassroots, resolve conflicts, and bring all and sundry on board for vigorous and effective campaign to ensure resounding victory come 2016.
He pointed out that NDC cannot afford to lose 2016, and since elections are won at the branch level, the party needs proven, tried and tested executives who can link up with the grassroots, remain sensitive to their plight, and get them mobilized for victory. Mr Ofosu-Ampofo advised members and supporters of the party to put the past behind them immediately the elections are over on December 20, work collectively to ensure that the party becomes more united and focused for the battle ahead in 2016.
He pledged that when he emerges as the party’s Vice Chairman, he would, in all humility, work with respect under the elected National Chairman among the four contestants for that position.
