The minister of state for Monitoring and Evaluation has served notice of stringent assessment of all ministers beginning in the first quarter of this year.
Dr Anthony Akoto Osei says recommendation for action on the performance of the ministers will be sent to the President Akufo-Addo for implementation.
"We are aware of the challenges so we are assisting the ministers to clarify all the challenges and what steps can be best taken to meet the challenges.
"Each Minister has been assigned three priorities. They themselves have agreed on their timelines and their [Key Performace Indicators]...my job is to make sure that they deliver the results," he said.
The Ministry was set up primarily to consolidate government’s activities by ensuring appointees live up to set targets and culminate in the overall growth agenda.
Dr Akoto Osei admits last year was very slow for most of the ministry but tells Joy News some works have been done to address the challenges with the implementation of the free Senior High School programme, for instance.
The Monitoring and Evaluation Ministry’s assessment is likely influence a ministerial reshuffle that is rumoured to take place soon.
The imminent reshuffle is said to be a power play between some powerful personalities around the President.
Meanwhile, Nana Akufo-Addo’s government has been criticised for appointing over 100 ministers.
