Host of Kapital Radio’s morning show, Kojo Marfo, and two of his friends were shot Sunday by unknown gun men off the main Obuasi-Kumasi at Trede near Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
Mr Marfo, who is also son of the Regional Security Liaison Officer, was shot in the thigh while his friends also sustained severe gunshot wounds.
Doctors at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) last night started a surgical procedure to remove bullet pellets from their bodies.
An eyewitness told Joy News the incident happened in the residence of Kojo Marfo's friend.
Police sources say Kojo Marfo and his friends, after leaving Church service Sunday afternoon, went to the mansion, which is located in a forest at Trede when the suspected robbers attacked them
Ashanti Regional Police Commander DCOP Kofi Boakye who visited the crime scene said investigation has begun.
He told Luv FM's Erastus Asare Donkor that police have leads but said it is not time to comment on the media.
Meanwhile, Erastus revealed Monday the three victims are responding to treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
