MTN Ghana has reaffirmed its dedication to preserving and promoting Ghana's rich cultural heritage, showing its support for the Hogbetsotso Festival, a cherished celebration among the Anlo people.
During a ceremony attended by prominent figures such as Togbe Sri III, the Awomefia of Anlo, and Togbe Awusu III, the Awadada of Anlo, MTN’s Area Sales Manager for Eastern, Volta, and Oti, Ransford Gyan, highlighted the company’s dedication to uplifting cultural traditions across the nation.
The Hogbetsotso Festival celebrated annually in the Volta Region, holds deep historical and cultural significance, embodying themes of resilience, unity, and peace within the Anlo community.
Ransford Gyan noted that MTN has consistently supported the festival for over a decade, acknowledging its importance not only to the Anlo people but to all Ghanaians who cherish Ghana’s cultural roots and shared heritage.
“This festival symbolises unity and strength, values that MTN cherishes and seeks to foster across all regions,” Gyan stated.
He emphasised MTN’s belief in the power of culture to inspire growth and community cohesion, underscoring that, as a company with African origins, MTN recognises the importance of investing in the traditions that bind communities together.
In keeping with its commitment, MTN Ghana provided substantial resources for the festival, including a donation, stage equipment, and a public address system for the grand durbar, ensuring the event is both well-resourced and memorable.

To create a unique experience for festival-goers, MTN set up experience centers at key points to engage with customers, resolve issues, and provide direct support to patrons attending the celebrations.
The company also collaborated with Jubilee Radio to organize a health walk, further energizing the atmosphere and engaging the community.
One of the key components of MTN's festival involvement this year is its effort to educate the public on mobile money (MoMo) safety.
Gyan highlighted the need to address MoMo fraud and the risks associated with pre-registered SIM cards, underscoring the importance of protecting customers’ information.
This educational outreach complements MTN’s broader commitment to customer care, a focus it plans to maintain throughout the celebrations.
The Awomefia of Anlo, Togbe Sri III, commended MTN Ghana for its continuous support over the years, expressing his gratitude for MTN’s enduring generosity to the Anlo Dukor.
Togbe Sri III urged other organizations to emulate MTN's contributions, recognising the company’s consistent presence and its positive impact on the festival and community life in Anlo.
“We are extremely grateful that MTN is always there to lend their hand of generosity to the Anlo Dukor,” he remarked.
As a leading corporate supporter of festivals across Ghana, MTN Ghana has a rich history of contributing to the vibrancy of traditional festivals, providing resources to traditional councils, and ensuring that these important cultural gatherings receive the support they need.
This sustained engagement highlights MTN’s deep-rooted dedication to cultural development, peace, and unity throughout Ghana.
On behalf of MTN, Mr Gyan expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Anlo chiefs, elders, and the broader community for their ongoing support and loyalty to the brand, acknowledging that MTN’s growth and success are inextricably linked to the communities it serves.
MTN extended its wishes for prosperity to the people of Anlo as they celebrate Hogbetsotsoza, emphasising the company's commitment to being a partner in the preservation of Ghana’s diverse cultural heritage.
