Telecom giant, MTN-Ghana has, in partnership with a local website developer, Echo House, created what industry players say is the biggest platform for unlimited social and academic information. The platform, known as “kuulpeeps” website, provides instant information, especially to tertiary level students on varied topics. It allows students to fraternize with each other, whilst they share knowledge.
MTN-Ghana General Manager for Northern Sector, James Bukari Basintale says the successful introduction of the new system demonstrates MTN’s drive to meet expectation, especially, its youthful clients. He wants to see more software developers take up the challenge to come out with innovative and environmentally friendly applications.Mr. Bukari spoke at the launch of kuul peeps website at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology over the weekend. It is the second in succession, after a similar launch on the University of Ghana campus few days ago whilst University of Cape Coast waits its turn to be hooked. The kuulpeeps portal, which can be accessed at www.kuulpeeps.com offers students interesting and interactive services on four mini websites. They include online magazine known as Echo Magazine, Rave locator which deals in people and places, online shop and academic and career sites.
According to Mr. Bukari, MTN will continue to search for innovative services that will meet the demands of its customers.“As the leading mobile telecommunications company in Ghana, MTN is constantly looking for new ways of meeting the expectations of different segments of subscribers and the youth.“This is why we continue to provide services which are suitable to the Youth or Trendies as we call them,” he said.Meanwhile Director of Echo House Ghana Limited, Beryl Agyemang said the website serves as a one-stop shop for academic information, career development, entertainment, and fashion among others. She revealed kuulpeeps would soon be expanded to include students in polytechnics and other tertiary institutions across the country.
