The Akuapem Presbytery Chairperson of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), the Rev. Dr. Joseph Obiri Yaw Mante, has called on politicians to trust in the power of God and draw on that authority to fulfill their mandate to the electorate.
Preaching at a thanksgiving service to climax the 125 years of Presbyterianism in the New Juaben Municipality on Christmas Day, Rev. Dr. Mante said it was only through Christ and the efficacy of his power that Ghana would develop.
In th regard, he reminded Ghanaian political leaders to reflect on the significance of the birth of Christ and let that passion guide their conduct at all times.
He said by using the attributes of Christ, they would be emboldened to conduct their campaigns in an atmosphere devoid of suspicion and animosity and so help to consolidate the peace that the country has been enjoying under the current political dispensation.
The Presbytery Chairperson exhorted Christians not to be deceived by perceptions that Christ was not born on Christmas Day, but rather to use the symbolic meaning of the occasion to show compassion to the needy, and by so doing, show appreciation to God for the best gift ever bestowed on humankind.Source: GNA
