Former Ghana Premier League top-scorer, Kwame Peprah, says he is surprised he has not received a call-up to the Black Stars yet as he believes his performances with King Faisal and Orlando Pirates are enough to warrant a spot in the national team.

Peprah finished as the GPL's highest scorer before securing a move to South African side, Orlando Pirates for the 2021/22 season.

In his maiden season in the South Africa Premier Soccer League, the 21-year-old netted seven times as his side finished sixth and was nominated for the league's Young Player of the Season award.

In an interview with JoySports, the forward revealed his performances in the last year merit a call to the national team.

"Every Ghanaian player's dream is to join the national team, to work and to support and be able to support his country. Considering my former performances with King Faisal and also this season at Orlando Pirates, I think I have done enough to be handed a call-up," he said.

"As the type of striker that I am, I can play on the left-wing, the right-wing and also as the centre-forward. My aerial duels are very good - that I can say. I think deserving a call-up is not a bad idea."

Peprah however admitted that just like himself, those who have been called up by Otto Addo also deserve their inclusion in the squad.

"The current players in the [Black Stars] camp all also deserve the call-up so I wish them all the best of luck in the coming games.
