The flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party, Nana Akufo-Addo on Saturday joined hundreds of worshippers at the Ridge Church to fellowship at their usual 31st December Watch Night Service to thank the Lord for his protection and mercies in the previous year and to also seek divine favour and guidance for the upcoming year.
Nana Akufo-Addo who was in the company of his wife and some close relations arrived to applause and cheers from the congregation, many of whom expressed their belief that 2012 was his year and wished him well in the upcoming Political Campaign Season.
The assembled were excited at being able to see the end of one year and the beginning of a new one and expressed their delight by singing praises to the Most High and dancing in excitement to His name and Grace for the gift of life.
The officiating Minister called on all gathered and the larger Ghanaian public to conduct themselves well in the activities they are engaged in, by following the footsteps of Christ and to abide by the principles established by Christ.
He again asked the congregation and the general Christian populace to pray for a free, fair, transparent and peaceful electoral process as the country enters the key 2012 Electioneering year.
The officiating Minister urged all players in the political and electoral process to conduct themselves in a proper manner to ensure that Ghana emerged out of the 2012 Elections as one peaceful and united country ready to meet the aspirations of the 24million Ghanaians who are expectant of a better life and who want to see this nation develop.
Nana Akufo-Addo who is a congregant at the Ridge Church was in good spirits throughout the service.
He took time after the service to interact with members of the congregation who generally expressed their support, wished him well and urged him on to run a determined campaign to win the 2012 Presidential Elections.
