The Central Regional Minister, Nana Ato Arthur, has inspected some completed and on-going development projects being undertaken by the government in collaboration with the Agona District
Assembly.
The projects, estimated 1.840 billion cedis, include a three- bedroom
doctors' bungalow for Agona Swedru Government Hospital, a new District Chief Executive's residence, a block of three classrooms, and construction of culvert at Egya Busua.
Others are construction of Early Childhood Development Centre at Otwekrom, a block of three classrooms and staff common room for
Otwekrom JSS and a footbridge at Agona Kwanyako.
Nana Ato Arthur also paid a courtesy call on the Swedruhene, Nana Ogidigram Odiowusiw Aseidu Kobina Botwe II at his palace and addressed a mini durbar of chiefs and the people of Agona Asafo.
Nana Ato Arthur called for unity and cooperation among the chiefs and
the people to facilitate progress and development of the region.
He said the government was making efforts to revive all collapsed
factories and companies in the Central Region to help create jobs and
wealth for the people to reduce poverty.
Nana Botwe expressed regret that the Central Region was engulfed in
numerous chieftaincy disputes that are affecting the development.
Nana Botwe urged the paramount chiefs in the region to educate their
people on the need to resolve chieftaincy matters out of courts to ensure peace and development.
