The Atiwa Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr John Amponsah Kyei, has said the party would win the forth coming by-election in the constituency.
He said the party executive is working hard to ensure that a winnable candidate is elected during the primaries to snatch the seat from the opposition New Patriotic Party for the fist time since 1996.
Mr Kyei told the GNA in an interview that a lot of development projects had taken place in the constituency, including construction of roads to open up the district, construction of school buildings and improving agriculture by way of supplying fertilizer at a reduced price to farmers.
He said school children in the district have received school uniforms and exercise books distributed by the government recently.
Mr Kyei appealed to all supporters and sympathizers of the party to close their ranks and rally behind whoever is elected at the primary to contest the election.
The Electoral Commission has set Tuesday August 31 for a by-election in the constituency following the death of its Member of Parliament, Mr Kwasi Annoh Ankamah.
Mr Ankamah died in London recently after a protracted illness.
