The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has dismissed 18 of its members for filing as independent parliamentary candidates in the December 7, polls.
The affected individuals are from 11 regions across the country.
General Secretary of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia in a statement Wednesday, said the 18 persons forfeited their membership the moment they filed nomination with the Electoral Commission as independent candidates.
He ordered those in question to handover all party property in their possession to their respective constituency secretariats.
Cautioning that, the dismissed persons, henceforth, desist from using any paraphernalia of the party and its flagbearer’s name in any campaign.
