The Northern Regional chairman of the NDC is dead.Alhaji Sumani Zakari died Sunday night in Accra after a protracted illness. His body was flown to Tamale Monday morning for burial.Joy News Northern Regional correspondent, Mahama Shaibu was among a large number of people who converged at the Tamale airport as the aircraft carrying the remains of Alhaji Zakari touched down.Alhaji Zakari was one of the longest serving regional chairmen of the NDC.The party’s propaganda secretary, Richard Quashigah said his death is a great loss for the NDC.“Alhaji was a great stalwart of the party, a great pillar around whom the party revolved in the Northern Region.”He prayed the NDC finds a fitting replacement for him.Source: Joy News/Ghana
