The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has urged the Tree Crops Development Authority to make productive use of about GH¢25 million in its account to support its operations and growth.

The Authority regulates the cashew, coconut, oil palm, rubber, mango and shea sectors and has provided training for farmers to improve their yields.

The Committee made the call on the fifth day of public hearings on the 2025 audit reports, during which it commended the Authority’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr Andy Osei Okrah, and his management team for their work.

The Committee, however, urged the management to sustain its efforts and obtain vehicle ownership documents for vehicles purchased for the institution.

In a related development, the Committee directed Dr Benedict Bonaventure Aligeba, former Managing Director of the Irrigation Company of Upper Region Limited (ICOUR), to vacate the official bungalow after the one-year retirement period.

The Cocoa Processing Company Limited was also cited for procurement breaches in the 2025 Auditor-General’s Report.

The Committee advised the company to comply with the Public Procurement Act, 2003 (Act 663), as amended, which regulates the procurement of goods, works and services using public funds. It also advised the company to enrol on the Ghana Electronic Procurement System (GHANEPS).
