The National Youth Working Committee (NYWC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is calling for the dismissal of the Editor of the Daily Graphic newspaper, Mr. Ransford Tetteh for publishing falsehood about the alleged registration of some 8,000 gays in Ghana. Please read the full details of the release: The National Youth Working Committee (NYWC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), upon a critical content analysis of a story that bannered on the front page of the Tuesday, May 31, 2011 edition of the Daily Graphic, is wading into the raging debate on the issue of homosexuality to expose Ransford Tetteh, editor of the Daily Graphic. We are stating without equivocation that we abhor the practice of homosexuality and there are no ifs and buts about it. In the said story, it was put out that some 8,000 homosexuals have been bold enough to register their sexual preference with some NGOs that are supposedly operating in the Central and Western Regions. According to the information that was put out, the issue of 8,000 homosexuals registering in the two regions came to the fore at a USAID sponsored programme for some selected health workers. In the story, no name of a single NGO was mentioned and the information was not attributed to any identifiable worker who is supposed to be working with any of the supposed NGOs. For close to six weeks, the issue of homosexuality has been forced on the psyche of Ghanaians by Ransford Tetteh and the Daily Graphic without any concrete information to prove that indeed, 8,000 young men in the Western and Central Regions have been brazen enough to tag themselves as homosexuals. How on earth can Daily Graphic put such a pothole-filled story on its front page if it is not the case that Ransford Tetteh has been paid to inflict such an issue on the psyche of Ghanaians? Indeed, the fact that six weeks down the line, the Daily Graphic has still not been able to provide the name of a single NGO or official, who the story can be sourced to, is ample reason to conclude that Ransford Tetteh was paid to do what he did. We have reason to believe that the international gay cartel paid Ransford Tetteh to do the story so as to attract our young boys into the act of homosexuality. Creating the false impression that 8,000 boys in JHS, SHS, and some polytechnics have been bold to register as homosexuals, is a bait to get more boys and young men to think that it is ok to be a homosexual. The point we are making is that, Ransford Tetteh has used the Daily Graphic to paint a dangerous picture on the minds of young boys for them to feel that if some 8,000 of them have been bold enough to register as homosexuals, then it is in vogue to be gay. That is the wicked extent to which Ransford Tetteh has gone to satisfy the interest of the international gay cartel. Of course, Ransford Tetteh could not have done such a wicked hatchet job for free. Just as the illicit drug trade is lucrative, so is the homosexual trade. If it is the case that some NGOs have a register of 8,000 homosexuals, Ransford Tetteh should please release the data. If people are bold enough to register with NGOs, then it means they don’t mind if their names are made public. Since unnatural canal knowledge is a crime; and since we are all interested in rooting out the despicable practice of men sleeping with men, the NYWC is asking the so-called NGOs to release the data so we can deal drastically with the menace. On the other hand, since the Daily Graphic would have us believe that a lot of Junior High and Senior High School boys are among the 8,000, the details should come out so the relevant bodies can quickly move in an start counseling the young boys and wean them off such an unacceptable practice. As we want to believe, the Daily Graphic, without solid facts and figures, has created the false impression that the number of homosexuals has risen astronomically as well as the fact that they are operating with brazen bravado. Ghana is not about to allow homosexuals to operate with brazen bravado so if it is the case that people are bold enough to register that they belong to the gay fraternity, we want to find out who they are and so Ransford Tetteh and Graphic must do better and give us more details. This business of throwing out an extremely loosely knit story out for the purpose of heightening tension would not be accepted. If it is true that they exist; let us know. We ask; did the JHS and SHS boys leave school to go and register with the NGOs, or the NGOs went to the schools to register them? But if it is the case that they do not exist in the manner that Graphic has it, let us not paint a black picture of this dear nation of ours. And with his NPP leanings, Ransford Tetteh did not hesitate to do the hatchet job to create the false impression that the number of Ghanaians in the gay business is rising under the watch of His Excellency President Atta Mills. It is quite obvious that President Atta Mills has cut a solid image for himself and some people are hell-bent on destroying that image. Because Akufo-Addo is suffering from image deficiency disorder, and is struggling to market himself, some persons are trying desperately to transfer the image deficiency disorder on to the President by throwing out this questionable information about homosexuals registering in the Central and Western Regions. Indeed, the choice of the two regions is rather curious because the President was born in the Western Region and hails from the Central Region. Do we smell a rat here? Yes we do! His Excellency John Evans Atta Mills is investing a lot of his time and energy in cleaning up the image of the cocaine-drenched country that he inherited from Kufuor and we will not sit idly by and allow the NPP and its media agents to destroy the good work that the President is doing. Ransford Tetteh and Daily Graphic must give us more proof of their 8,000 homosexual story; otherwise, they should please spare us their stinking propaganda. Certainly, Ghana deserves better than what the Daily Graphic put out on Tuesday, May 31, 2011!!! Ghana has its own socio-cultural milieu and we will not allow Ransford Tetteh to be an agent for foreign and alien elements for their way of life to be inflicted on us. As responsible citizens of Ghana, we are asking all well-meaning Ghanaians to rise up and wage a relentless war against Ransford Tetteh and his anti-nation building agenda of using the Daily Graphic to do the bidding of the international gay cartel. Indeed, if Ransford Tetteh is unable to immediately produce evidence that 8,000 homosexuals have registered with NGOs, the National Media Commission must SACK him as the editor of the Daily Graphic. Fellow Ghanaians, let us “shine our eyes” lest we fall prey to the likes of Ransford Tetteh, who are prepared to sell our Motherland for a mess of pottage!
