Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, Convention People’s Party flag bearer has confirmed moves to get either of the People’s National Convention’s flag bearer, Dr. Edward Mahama or Ms Anna Bossman of the Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice to partner him as running mate for the December polls.
Dr. Nduom, currently on a campaign tour of the Western Region, said the two are presidential materials whose personal accomplishments are worthy of consideration, besides, they have integrity.
He said constituencies in the CPP have been canvassing for the selection of the two and irrespective of their political affiliations, they qualify for the job. He would not confirm how far talks with the two have advanced but said the necessary contacts have been made.
On Tuesday, the Chronicle newspaper reported the two were in the reckoning for the CPP running mate slot, however Ivor Greenstreet, General Secretary, could not confirm or deny the issue when he talked to Joy FM.
He told Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah on the Super Morning Show that the search for a running mate began the moment Dr. Nduom was elected flag bearer and added that the party would complete the exercise of nominating a running mate before it files its forms for the December polls in September.
He said gender considerations could attend the selection of a running mate as far as competence and potential personal contribution to the party’s electoral fortunes showed positively.
