The Chief Accountant of Federal College of Land Resources Technology, Vom, Jos South Local Government area of Plateau State, Audu Chobe, his wife and three-year old daughter, were on Thursday night gruesomely murdered in their sleep by suspected Fulani attackers. This was coming barely 48 hours after some communities in the state had resorted to dialogue and peaceful co-existence as the only way to end the protracted crisis in the state. The unfortunate incident which occurred at about 7:30pm on Thursday when some armed Fulani men stormed the premises of the college left the college electrician, simply identified as Hosea, and the Chief Security Officer of the college, Mr. Haruna Danjuma, dead, and seven severely injured as the assailants shot sporadically into the air and made away with at least 30 cows from the school premises. The incident created tension and pandemonium in the locality forcing the people to stay indoors in the early part of Friday. The police got to the scene shortly after the assailants had escaped. The police however issued a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, ASP Apev Jacob, to confirm and condemn the attack. The statement reassured the public of their security and enjoined them to go about their lawful businesses as the police and the state task force are on top of the situation. The Chief Medical Superintendent of the Hospital, Dr. Samuel Dido, who confirmed that five bodies of victims were brought to the hospital, appealed to both the state and federal governments to intervene in the incessant attacks in the area.
