The Northern Region has recorded close to 9000 cases of disaster as at mid-year this year.
The disasters listed by the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) include Hydro-Meteorological, fire and lightning as well as man-made disasters.
Rainstorm disasters were the highest with a record of 3,846 followed by floods with a total figure of 2,184 cases involving 235 houses and five schools.
1, 881 bush fires were recorded within the period including the destruction of about 90 acres of farmlands.
Domestic fires also had it's fair share with 806 cases and ravaging 34 houses.
Records by NADMO in the region gave the break down of the affected Metropolitan Municipal and District who suffered these disasters as follows; Sagnarigu, Tamale, Kumbungu and Karaga.
The rest were Gushegu, Zabzugu, Savelugu and Tolon districts.
The report also listed Tamale Metropolis, Sagnarigu Municipality, Karaga District, Kumbungu and Zabzugu Districts as the hardest hit with by disaster.
