A notorious armed robber Stephen Quarshie who had been on the police wanted list for years, has been arrested.
The 27 Year old is a native of Weta in the Volta Region and had been operating with different groups attacking shops and filling stations in the Country, according to police.
Addressing the media after his arrest, Accra Regional Police Commander DCOP Patrick Timbilla noted that on the 8th of June this year Quarshie alias Fofo and his group attacked a Shell Fuel station near Amansaman and made away with Ghc 4,000. He was also involved in a Ghc 1,500 robbery incident at Antis Shop at Haatso in February this year and then snatched a bag containing Ghc 20,000.
DCOP Timbilla stated the police at Amansaman upon a tip-off on 4th July arrested Quarshie who was then at his hideout at Kuntunse near Amansaman.
He said on a search in his room produced a gun with six rounds of ammunition concealed in a black bag.
He will soon be arraigned before a court.
