The New Patriotic Party is pushing for an alternative funding strategy to ensure an effective 2016 election campaign and victory for the party.
Acting chairman, Freddie Blay says the party will seek the support particularly from individual donors as well as bank rollers of the party.
Speaking at a ceremony to launch of the party’s fundraising campaign, Mr. Blay said there is the need to bring about the political change Ghanaians desire but all that can only be achieved with money.
He called on all members of the party to put their shoulders to the wheel.
"In the next few weeks limited registration will take place. We have to recruit and train all volunteers and agents to get out the people to come and register and to protect the integrity of the registration exercise.
"To be able to govern effectively, the NPP requires a clear majority in the next Parliament. The NPP led by Nana Akufo-Addo therefore needs resources to support the hard work of our Parliamentary candidates.
"What we seek to do differently is to rely on small donations from all Ghanaians across the country," he said.
Freddie Blay did not miss the opportunity to criticize the ruling party.
"We are presented with yet another golden opportunity to remove from office this incompetent, corrupt and divisive NDC government.
It is obvious they are bent on holding on to power in spite of their in ability to perform. They have access to a lot of resources but we together as citizens of Ghana owe it a duty to ourselves and to the unborn generation to mobilize efforts to remove this incompetent NDC government in the upcoming elections.
