A member of the New Patriotic Party in the Abuakwa North Constituency, Atta Boateng has vowed, together with a number of NPP supporters in the area, to vote for the NDC’s Victor Smith.
“What we will do is to vote for Victor Smith for parliament and Nana Addo for President. That is what people are saying in the area,” he noted.
According to Atta Boateng, the NPP’s candidate for the Abuakwa North constituency cannot help the people and the party as a whole.
He alleged that in 2004 when Mr. J B Danquah Adu was the MP of the area and a deputy minister in the erstwhile Kufuor administration, he did nothing to bring development into the constituency but Victor Smith has started bringing development to the people of Abuakwa.
When the NDC’s parliamentary hopeful Victor Smith announced his intention to represent the constituency, it was reported that over 6,000 NPP supporters followed and cheered him up. Meanwhile, NPP’s Atta Boateng is convinced that Mr Smith will win the 2012 elections.
Speaking on Asempa Fm’s current affairs programme Ekosii-Sen on Tuesday, Atta Boateng noted that the NPP’s candidate will lose the 2012 elections by a landslide margin.
“He has taken the party like his family property. We have been complaining over the years but it has been the same situation so we will support Victor Smith,” he noted.
He asserted that Victor Smith is a different man altogether though he is from the NDC.
“Look our main problems are roads and market at Apadwa but Victor Smith has started doing it for us so do you think we will support our own J B Danquah?” he quizzed.
He said the people of the area including NPP supporters know that Victor Smith will bring better development to them.
He described Mr. J B Danquah Adu as an arrogant man, noting that when he lost the NPP’s primary to Prof. Amoako in 2007, he failed to congratulate him.
Mr. Atta Boateng who was a former polling station organizer for the party claimed the NPP’s parliamentary candidate has started bribing people to vote for him for fear that he will lose the 2012 election.
“If it’s money that we want, we will not follow Victor, he is thinking about our future and not something we will eat today,” he said.
He asserted that since they started supporting Victor Smith, their candidate J B Danquah is shivering and trying to ‘buy’ people to support him. “I will not curse him but J B will never win Abuakwa North in 2012 because he cannot bring us anything better.”
“As for J B he will share money for us but Victor Smith will give us projects so we will vote for Victor,” he said.
