The Young Patriots, a youth wing of the opposition New Patriotic Party is accusing President John Mills of deceit.
The group embarked on a demonstration in Tamale on Tuesday over what they say is the unfulfilled promises of the Mills administration on the Savanna Accelerated Development Authority (SADA)
As part of a campaign message the NDC promised to make available ¢200 million as seed money under the SADA project with a yearly contribution of ¢100 million.
The amount was to address the socio-economic needs of citizens of the three Northern Regions under the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority.
But that promise is yet to be fulfilled almost three and half years of the administration’s tenure.
A member of the Young Patriots Richard Nyame told Joy News the president and his party have been deceitful towards people living in the three northern regions.
“If the president indicates in his manifesto that in the first year they will put aside ¢200 million, the second year ¢100 million, the third year ¢100; the fourth year ¢100 which is 500 million and as you and I speak there isn’t any money in the account, I can confidently say it is deceit."
He was even more surprised that the government found money to pay judgement debts to its own financiers.
Richard Nyama also called for the dismissal of the SADA CEO Ahaji Gilbert Iddi as well as the dissolution of the board accusing the CEO of being ineffective.
