The National Service Secretariat has urged personnel including volunteers to see themselves as ambassadors of the scheme and desist from dubious activities that undermine their integrity.
Ashanti Regional Director, Kwasi Quainoo, says it is important for them to behave in a manner that will see them out of trouble while they make a mark in the communities they serve.
He was speaking at a day’s orientation on ethics of the scheme for personnel in the Atwima Kwanwoman District.
Mr. Quainoo warned severe sanctions will be meted out to personnel who go contrary to laid down ethics of the scheme.
While advising volunteers to be time conscious in their approach to work, he also cautions against reckless amorous relationship.
Mr. Quainoo noted as service personnel, it is time for them to give back to society what it invested in them, and therefore commended those who have accepted postings to the various districts.
On personnel allowance Mr. Quainoo assured them of prompt payment though he gave no specific date.
District Coordinating Director Yeboah Anning sought the secretariat’s assistance to provide office accommodation for officers in the district who are currently working in rented premises.
