The Central Committee of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) which is the second highest decision–making body in the Union has decided and asked two (2) National Officers to step-aside for various offenses pending a conclusive report from the Judicial Board. The two (2) National Officers are Mr. Patrick Adonoo (General Secretary) and Miss. Benedicta Lasi (International Relations Secretary). A statement issued and signed by NUGS President and copied to Asempa News said, the General Secretary addressed a Cuban-Embassy Solidarity campaign without the knowledge of the Union and brought the name of Union into disrepute by lying about the Union’s stance during the UTAG strike. “The International Relations Secretary has designed and used an illegal letterhead of the Union and together with the General Secretary issued a press statement in respect of some international issues without the knowledge of the Union,” the statement noted.
