The Nungua Divisional Police Command has taken delivery of some 3,000 registration papers that were to have been used during the first phase of the biometric registration exercise in the Krowor constituency. The registration materials were returned to the Police by a taxi driver, Kwame Addai, in whose car the materials were left about a week ago. Supporters of both the NDC and the NPP thronged the Nungua divisional police command after news of the return of the registration materials broke in the area. The items returned included 3,000 registration papers, laptop batteries, chargers, indelible ink and directional forms. According to a Police officer at the station, on March 25, a registration officer reported to the Police that she had left a bag containing the said materials in a taxi cab late at night after alighting from the taxi. Municipal Chief Executive for Ledzokuku- Krowor, Daniel Amartey Mensah has expressed worry about the incident but the NPP’s parliamentary candidate for the Krowor constituency, Ayikoi Otoo insists the Electoral Commission had been negligent over the matter. Meanwhile, Joy News TV has learnt that the Electoral Commission has blocked the serial numbers on the registration papers that went missing hence they cannot be used.
