Ghana Football Association President Kwasi Nyantakyi has bemoaned the delayed start of the domestic season amidst an uncertain date for the opening fixtures.
One main issue preventing the Football Association to announce the start date is the Techiman and Wa Africa United case.
Techiman City are facing bribery claims, which the newly constituted Ethics Committee started the hearing last week.
Nyantakyi who has been blamed by many for the delay start has promised to work hard to ensure an early commencement of the league.
“The Ghana Premier league is first flagship programme of the GFA not the Black Stars as some people keep saying and so we are working very hard to ensure an early commencement of the league, it is already overdue because the league should have started in October or November,” said Nyantakyi in an interaction with the press last Friday
“Unfortunately there is a case pending before our Ethics Committee involving Wa Africa United and Techiman City and as I speak to you now the committee is trying to find a solution to the problem.
“As soon as the Ethics Committee hears the matter and brings finality in its determination we believe we will fix a date for the league as soon as possible.”
