One person died on the spot while more than thirty people sustained severe injuries in an accident at Kasoa in the Central Region.
The accident occurred when a saloon car crossed the path of a public bus.
An eye-witness who spoke to Joy News said the saloon car crossed the path of a Mercedes Benz bus with Registration Number GR 8663 which was travelling in the same direction.
The driver of the bus however lost control of the steering and somersaulted a number of times before plunging into a ditch.
The injured are said to be receiving treatment at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
The driver of the saloon car is in police custody and is expected to be sent to court later this week, Weija Divisional Police Commander ASP Kwame Afari said.
