Opportunity International Savings and Loans Ltd. (OISL) paid a courtesy call to His Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II during the Akwasidae festival held recently.
This was as part of activities marking its 20th Anniversary celebrations.
The purpose of the visit was to express gratitude to His Royal Majesty for his support since the inception of the company which started in Kumasi twenty years ago and to seek his blessings for the forthcoming events marking the Anniversary celebrations.
The delegation comprised Rev. Dr Kwabena Darko, the first Board Chairman of OISL, Katey Assem, the current Board Chairman, Kwame Owusu-Boateng, Chief Executive Officer of OISL, some Board Members of OISL including Benjamin Kwasi Kusi, Alberta Quarcoopome, Azara Abukari-Haroun and Joyce Boeh-Ocansey, and a cross-section of Management and staff of the Institution.

As part of its charitable works, OISL also donated GH¢50,000 to the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation to support its operations.
The Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation seeks to build sustainable programs, services, and projects to improve the quality of life of Ghanaians.
The Chief Executive Officer of OISL Mr. Kwame Owusu-Boateng speaking on behalf of the institution, stated that the donation was in accordance with the company’s vision of promoting a world in which all people have the opportunity to achieve a life free from poverty, with dignity and purpose.
This he said closely aligns with the objectives of the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation.
He further emphasized that the majority of customers served by OISL are vulnerable, particularly women who may feel hesitant to approach a traditional Bank for banking services due to various reasons.
However, he emphasised that over the years, OISL has successfully reached out to such individuals and provided them with collateral-free loans, opportunities for secure savings as well as financial literacy training.
He reaffirmed the institution's commitment to empowering individuals (particularly women), businesses, and communities through innovative financial and non-financial solutions.

Additionally, he emphasised that the institution remains steadfast in its commitment of promoting positive change in the lives of its clients and making meaningful contributions to national development.
In conclusion, he expressed his heartfelt gratitude to His Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for graciously receiving the delegation despite his busy schedule during the Akwasidae festival.
