The death of a 28year old mechanic reportedly killed by police in the Brong Ahafo regional capital, Sunyani, has sparked outrage among residents in the city.
Kwabena Aberimi, was killed after police allegedly opened fire when they attempted to arrest alleged narcotic drug users at Odumasi, a suburb of Sunyani.
It comes barely a week after two persons were shot and killed by police in Kumasi and Obuasi all in the Ashanti region, under strange circumstances.
A patrol team in the municipality was reported to have stormed the area to arrest alleged narcotic drug users but ended up killing the mechanic.
Mahama Asanga, father of the deceased told Kuukuban Abban of Skyy FM in Sunyani that his son, who was then returning home from town, met the police who were firing gunshots and took to his heels.
According to Mr. Asanga, his son was nowhere close to the place where the alleged drug peddlers were when the police shot and killed him.
Police have however denied the claim.
