The Electoral Commission has revealed that so far over 6 million people have been captured in the ongoing biometric voters’ registration exercise in the country.
In an interview with the Joy FM, Christian Owusu-Parry, Director of Public Affairs of the EC, said that their per their assessment, the second phase of the exercise has gone on quite well.
The EC has described as unfortunate and needless violence that has characterized the registration exercise.
Owusu-Parry reiterated the fact that when it is suspected that someone is not a qualified voter there are procedures to be followed and urged party agents to stick to the rules.
The second phase of the ongoing biometric voters’ registration exercise will come to a close on Friday, whereas the third phase of the exercise is scheduled to start on April 15.
