The Central Regional Minister, Mrs. Ama Benyiwa-Doe, has appealed to chiefs in the region to package their festivals to make them more attractive to tourists.
She said the region abounded with numerous rich festivals and culture which, if properly packaged, could make the respective areas centres of attraction for both domestic and foreign tourists.
Mrs. Benyiwa-Doe stated this when addressing a durbar of the chiefs and people of Breman Asikuma, to climax their Odwira festival.
Mrs. Georgina NkrumahAboah, the District Chief Executive, appealed to the chiefs to bury their differences, cooperate and contribute towards the development of the district, saying “together we can achieve success.”
On his part, Odeefo Amoakwa Buadu VIII, Omanhene of Breman Asikuma, commended the government on its efforts at developing the area and expressed the hope that more projects would be undertaken there.
He hinted the traditional council had instituted a scholarship scheme to help brilliant but needy students and that 20 student had so far benefited from it.
He, therefore, urged the people to contribute to the fund to enable more students to benefit from it.
