A man has been arrested at Paris Hilton's home in Los Angeles after she said he was trying to break in while holding two big knives. Police say she was woken up by the sound of him banging on her windows. Reports in the US claim she saw him on her CCTV cameras and called for help immediately. The 29-year-old socialite posted a picture on her Twitter page of the suspect in handcuffs on her lawn, surrounded by police. She tweeted: "So scary, just got woken up to a guy trying to break into my house holding 2 big knifes. Cops are here arresting him." The Los Angeles police department says the man was arrested at around 6.30am and that his motive is unknown. He's said to be in his 40s and was caught before he was able to get into the house. Police haven't released a name. Eventful year Dawn Miller, Paris Hilton's publicist, said in a statement: "Paris is naturally shaken by the events but is unharmed and well. "She is very thankful to her security team and the police for their swift and diligent response." Paris moved into the five bedroom mansion in 2007. It's in the wealthy area of Sherman Oaks in Los Angeles where there are many high-end fashion boutiques and posh restaurants. She apparently bought it for more than six million dollars (£3.8m) and lives there with her two dogs. In 2008, a burglar broke into the same house and stole two million dollars (£1.3m) of jewellery. The police said a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and gloves got in through the front door, raided her bedroom and escaped with a load of her belongings. She wasn't home at the time. It has been an eventful few months for Paris Hilton, who was briefly detained by police in July on the French island of Corsica after being caught with less than a gram of cannabis in her handbag.
