The Speaker of Parliament was forced to adjourn Friday's parliamentary sitting after the House failed to find a quorum needed to proceed with legislative work.
Nine out of the 148 MPs in the Majority caucus were present while out of 122 from the Minority caucus, 25 turned up for work.

Parliamentary primaries in the governing National Democratic Congress accounted for the huge absence of its MPs. The party will be going to the polls Saturday, November 21 to elect a presidential candidate and parliamentary aspirants to represent the party in the 2016 general election.
About 127 out of 148 Majoirty MPs including the Majority leader Alban Bagbin are seeking to be re-elected.
The Member of Parliament for Nkoranza North, Major Derrick Oduro drew the attention of the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Edward Doe Adjaho to Standing Order 48.
According to the Order, the presence of at least 1/3 of all the members of parliament besides the person presiding shall be necessary to constitute a quorum of the house.
According to Joy News’ Elton Brobbey, parliament waited for 10 minutes in the hope that attendance would improve. But the wait was in vain.
The Speaker Rt Hon. Edward Doe Ajaho adjourned the sitting after the presentation of a business statement for next week..
