A church at Akomadan in the Ashanti Region is reeling in shock after one of its pastors was found hanging dead on a tree in the mission house.
Pastor Kofi Victor, 28, a junior pastor of the Jesus is the Way Church, allegedly used a rope to hang himself on a tree in the compound.
The police at Akomadan have launched investigations into the incident.
Pastor Victor's remains have been deposited at the Nkenkansu Hospital for autopsy.
Briefing the Daily Graphic on telephone, the Akomadan District Police Commander, DSP Gilbert Zubaviel, said the head pastor of the church went for morning devotion and when he returned his wife informed him that Pastor Victor had hanged himself on a tree.
When the head pastor went to check, he found, to his amazement, his colleague hanging on a tree with a rope tied around the neck.
Pastor Victor had excused himself from the morning devotion without anyone knowing that he had planned to commit suicide.
DSP Zubaviel said the head pastor informed the police at Akomadan about the incident.
Pastor Victor, who was single, did not leave any suicide note behind.
