Pep Guardiola is in line to visit the Emirates Stadium in December as he steps up plans to return to football, Goal.com can reveal. The former Barcelona manager has been invited to deliver a presentation at a one-day event organised for international coaches and football specialists to share their knowledge. He is set to be one of a series of high-profile speakers at the symposium, which is scheduled to take place at Arsenal’s stadium in mid-December, most likely on December 19.Guardiola, who is living in New York with his family during a year’s sabbatical from the game, has indicated he is keen to be involved if it fits in with his plans to visit London as part of a Europe-wide fact-finding trip. The Spaniard was photographed with Sir Alex Ferguson in the US capital last week, where both attended the US Open tennis finals, as he maintains his links with the game. However, United dismissed suggestions that the pair met to discuss the possibility of Guardiola succeeding Ferguson at Old Trafford. The 41-year-old revealed in late April that he would be stepping down as manager of Barcelona to take a break from football following a glittering four-year spell at the helm in which he steered the club to 13 trophies, including two Champions League titles and three league crowns.Speaking at the time, Guardiola explained: “The reason is simple: four years is enough. I'm drained and I need to fill up. The demand has been very high and a manager must be strong.“Time has taken its toll - I rise each day and don't feel the same. I am going with the understanding that I have done my duty. You can only recover by resting and getting away from everything.”The Catalan, who speaks good English, has been strongly linked with a managerial post in the Premier League, with United, Chelsea and Arsenal among the clubs said to be keen on hiring one of the highest achieving coaches in the game.
