As the year races to an end, the National Petroleum Commission is on a heart-touching spree just like the proverbial Santa Claus, to put smiles on the face of inmates of some institutions in the country.
The new beneficiary of these goodies is the Dzorwulu Special School which is located within the same vicinity of the commission.
The Dzorwulu Special School was established in 1970 and has since been the premier school for children with special needs. It was built to be boarding for kids with disabilities, in consideration of their individual educational needs, which aims at full development of their capabilities, independence and social participation. But due to lack of funds and other challenges, the school is struggling to serve its full purpose.

According to the headmaster of the school, Fredrick Tetteh just like any other school, the institution is facing many challenges. He advised parents not to dump their wards in the school but show interest in their day to day activities.
Mr Tetteh was, however, grateful to the staff and management of the Petroleum Commission for the gesture.

On his part, Chief Executive of the Petroleum Commission, Egbert Faibille Jnr, said the donation which was from the contributions made by the staff of his outfit was part of an agenda to alleviate the plight of some challenged institutions. He pledged the Commission’s commitment to ally with the school to support them.
Items donated included bags of rice, oil, confectionaries, mattresses, mowers among other things.
