PETROSOL Platinum Energy PLC has announced plans to raise long-term capital through the Ghana Stock Exchange after receiving approval from the Ghana Stock Exchange and the Securities and Exchange Commission, positioning the indigenous energy company for its next phase of expansion.
The announcement was made by the Chief Executive Officer of PETROSOL Platinum Energy PLC, Michael Bozumbil, during the Ghana International Petroleum Conference (GhIPCon) 2026 in Accra, where he outlined the company's strategy to expand its footprint in both the petroleum and renewable energy sectors.
According to Mr. Bozumbil, the approval represents a significant milestone in PETROSOL's twenty-year journey from a petroleum consulting firm into one of Ghana's leading indigenous oil marketing companies.
"After a thorough assessment of PETROSOL's business, including our governance systems, our compliance level, our credibility and growth plans, the Ghana Stock Exchange and the Securities and Exchange Commission have approved our request to raise patient capital on the stock exchange for our growth," he announced.
He said the capital raised would finance the company's long-term expansion strategy, including investments in clean energy solutions, solar power and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
"We have a clear plan to grow sustainably. We will continue to look for opportunities and the right partnerships to invest in the energy sector through innovation while taking advantage of government policies to expand our operations and deliver clean, long-lasting fuel and renewable energy solutions to our customers," he said.
Founded in 2006 as a petroleum business management and consulting firm, PETROSOL transitioned into an oil marketing company in 2014, capitalizing on government policies aimed at strengthening indigenous participation in Ghana's downstream petroleum industry.
Today, the company operates more than 100 fuel stations nationwide and employs about 490 people.
Mr. Bozumbil attributed the company's growth to strong corporate governance, prudent financial management and strict regulatory compliance despite periods of economic uncertainty.
Over the years, PETROSOL has earned three International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certifications covering quality management, occupational health and safety, and environmental management. The company has also received recognition from the Ghana Revenue Authority for tax compliance and has maintained good standing with the National Petroleum Authority, the Environmental Protection Authority and the Ghana Standards Authority.
Beyond its core petroleum business, the company is investing in renewable energy and plans to install electric vehicle charging stations at selected fuel outlets as part of Ghana's energy transition agenda.
Mr. Bozumbil stressed that policy consistency remains essential for indigenous businesses to thrive, noting that sustained government support has enabled local companies to compete with multinational firms in Ghana's downstream petroleum sector.
"As an indigenous company that has benefited from consistent implementation of government policies promoting the growth of indigenous private companies, we believe collaboration and policy consistency are critical to building a resilient downstream petroleum industry," he said.
He noted that PETROSOL's sponsorship of the 2026 Ghana International Petroleum Conference reflects its commitment to supporting industry dialogue and creating an enabling environment for innovation, investment and sustainable growth.
Looking ahead, Mr. Bozumbil reaffirmed PETROSOL's commitment to expanding its fuel retail network, growing its renewable energy business and creating sustainable employment opportunities.

The planned capital raise is expected to strengthen PETROSOL's financial capacity while broadening investment opportunities for the Ghanaian public, further deepening participation in the country's capital market.
