Tarkwa is an important mining town in the Western region. It holds mining fields for Ghana Manganese Co. Ltd, Anglogold Ashanti mine and the Goldfields mines.
The town’s economic importance does not however, reflect in the state of social infrastructure. Here is a road in the town, circulating in the media.
