Here in this picture, is the National Under-18 Handball Team getting ready to participate in the IHF Zone 3 Challenge Trophy but they are stuck just because the bus is in a bad state.
This bus meant for at most 25 people was carrying 45 people from Accra to Lome. It also carried luggage and equipment for training and matches at the IHF Event.
When the authorities at the Sports Council were called upon and the association expressed interest in taking part in the event hosted by Togo from 27th July to 2nd August, 2014, the Handball Association was made to understand that there was no money to support the team.
Henceforth the handball association had to put measures in place and personally make sure that Ghana takes part in this major zonal tournament.
What you might not know is that this team has a lot of talent which needs to be nurtured.
The last edition of the IHF Challenge Trophy which was well hosted by Ghana in May 2012 was won by Ghana in the male category but nevertheless the female team also made us proud by finishing in 3rd place just after Benin and Nigeria respectively.
