Civil society groups have been urged to do more than study government policies as the Center for National Affairs marked Mothers' Day with mothers at the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial hospital in the Eastern region.
The Executive Director Samuel Lartey said it would be nice if CSO in governance add a human touch to the important work of policy analysis.
"Governance is about people" he said as he led a team of more than 15 volunteers to visit the maternity wards of the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial hospital which serves more than 166,000 residents.
The volunteers included NGO workers, entreprenuers and students who presented hampers to mothers and their new born babies.
The Akuapem North Municipal Chief Executive Dennis Aboagye joined CNA volunteers in the distribution and expressed gratitude for the gesture.
The Center changed the ward's curtains, installed a TV set and donated a fridge plus cash to the hospital.

He told them the hospital which plays a critical role in the municipality needs public-spirited initiatives to improve the quality of healthcare. He said the hospital built in 1961 needs infrastructural improvements.
