The family of the late Defence Minister, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, has marked the first anniversary of his death with a Thanksgiving Service at Christ the King Parish in Accra.

The service brought together government officials, political figures, traditional leaders, colleagues, friends and sympathisers to honour the late minister and reflect on his contribution to Ghana.

Among those present were Deputy Defence Minister Ernest Brogya Genfi, Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu, Lands and Natural Resources Minister Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh and Ghana Cocoa Board CEO Dr Randy Abbey.

Delivering the homily, Rev. Fr Ebenezer Akesseh urged mourners to uphold the values of faith, integrity, selflessness and commitment to the public good, which he said characterised Dr Omane Boamah’s service to the nation.

The family also donated to Christ the King Parish in support of its altar and chaplaincy.

The service ended with prayers for the repose of Dr Omane Boamah’s soul and for strength for his bereaved family and loved ones.
