AshantiGold secured their passage to the first qualifying round of Caf Confederation Cup after a 3-0 thumping win over Akonangui FC on Saturday at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.
The Miners progressed 4-1 on aggregate and will face last year finalist RS Berkane in the next round.
Here’s how the Miners players fared.
Frank Boateng (GK) 5/10. Not too many balls on him. He was on holidays today, especially in the first half.
Kwadwo Amoako – 5/10: His movement upfront was superb but crosses were very poor. He was not at his best when defending as well.
Eric Donkor – 7/10: He brought his vast experience to bear, especially in the first 15 minutes where he was heavily involved in the attack.
Richard Osei Agyemang – 6/10: He put up an average performance per his standard. He committed an error that almost led to a consolation goal for the visitors.
Yusif Mubarik – 7/10: Mubarik was solid at the back. The visitors found it difficult going past him.
James Akaminko – 8/10: Akaminko impressed greatly both in defence and attack.
Amos Addai – 6/10: The talented midfielder failed to exert his authority on the game. However, he managed to create some decent openings and was involved in the build-up that led to the penalty.
Abdul Latif Anabila – 7/10: Anabila had a great game. His positioning was spot on but could have done better with his finishing.
Marco Silva – 6/10: The Brazilian had a quiet game, especially in the second half where he appeared out of sorts.
Shafiu Mumuni – 9/10: Undoubtedly the best player on the pitch on Saturday. The striker hit an eight-minute hat-trick to take his side through. Aside from the goals, his work rate was impressive.
Mark Agyekum. 6/10. He worked hard but his final balls lacked the desired results which left fans unhappy.
Substitutes:
Amos Kofi Nkrumah – 4/10
Appiah McCarthy – 4/10
Emmanuel Owusu – 4/10
