A 20-year-old plumber has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment by a Kumasi Circuit Court for defiling a 13-year-old Junior High School (JHS) pupil.
Kwadwo Agyemang also known as Richard Acheampong pleaded guilty and was convicted on his own plea.
Police Chief Inspector Mary Affinyi told the court presided over by Mr Agyei Frimpong that the complainant, Isaac Takyi, lived with the victim at Bremang UGC, a suburb of Kumasi.
He said on October 26 this year, the victim left home for town but failed to return.
The Prosecutor said the complainant mounted a search for the victim, who is his daughter, in collaboration with the police.
Chief Inspector Mary Affinyi said a week later, the complainant spotted his daughter at Bremang and upon interrogation by the Suame police she mentioned Agyemang as having kept her in his room where he sexually abused her.
Following this, the police arrested the accused who admitted the offence.
