The Nima Police have arrested two persons in connection with the disappearance of monies belonging to Deputy Information Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
The two suspects include the deputy Information Minister’s driver.
The driver, according to reports, took the car containing the money to a washing bay at Nima but returned without it.
When quizzed about the whereabouts of the money, the driver denied knowledge of it. A complaint was subsequently lodged with the Nima police and the driver together with a washing bay attendant were arrested.
Although Police declined to give the exact figure of the money involved, Myjoyonline.com checks indicate that the money is in excess of Ghc20,000.
DSP Freeman Tettey, the Greater Accra Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) who confirmed the incident said they have launched investigations into the case and are sure to unravel the mystery about the missing money.
