Police at Pakyi in the Ashanti Region say they will soon put before court the driver whose alleged recklessness caused a tragic accident on the Kumasi Obuasi Road, two weeks ago.
Station Officer, Inspector Braimah Seidu, says preliminary investigations indict the driver who was in charge of the Ford bus with registration AS 545 V on the fateful day.
He is recuperating after being discharged from hospital, and could be charged for breaching road traffic regulations which bar overtaking a vehicle at a zebra crossing.
Inspector Seidu says the accident could have been avoided if he had not veered into the lane of an on-coming vehicle.
Seven people died, four of them on the spot in the tragedy following a head-on collision.
Meanwhile, an unidentified middle-aged man, one of the injured victims who has been on critical condition has died at the Komfo Anokye Hospital, bringing the number of dead to eight.
