The outgoing Presenter of the Koforidua St. Peter’s Anglican Cathedral, Rev. Father Eding Sam Padi has reminded politicians in the country that they could not win elections if they had not been anointed by God.
He therefore advised them to stop seeking support of shrines and other spiritual mediums that involved the practice of rituals and acts that could lead to the killing of their fellow human beings to offer their blood and parts to those shrines.
Rev. Fr. Padi was delivering the sermon on Sunday at the thanksgiving service organized to close the 10th National Delegates Conference of the Guild of Servants of the Sanctuary of the Anglican Church of Ghana which was organized at Koforidua under the theme; “Election 2008, let us seek the face of God”.
The four-day conference was attended by 120 delegates from all the Dioceses of the Anglican Church in the country.
Rev. Fr. Padi expressed regret at the violence and the mass registration of minors by the major political parties in the country during the just ended limited voters’ registration exercise and warned that, what happened could be a shadow of what would happened in December if care was not taken.
He advised Christian youth who had not reached the voting age but had been deceived to register not to vote in December to get out of trouble.
He advised Christians to exercise their franchise with wisdom and not to allow themselves to be enticed by gifts and money to vote which would make them vote for people who might not have the requisite capacity to contribute effectively towards the development of the country.
Rev. Fr. Padi advised members of Guild of Servants of the Sanctuary of the Anglican Church to be humble and show love and support to all and play the role expected of them very well to support the growth and progress of the Church.
